Website Help

Practical help for the website you already have.

Most websites do not need rebuilding. Northbridge sorts the things that have gone out of date, stopped working or never quite worked properly.

Founded and led by Jack Hamilton in Larbert, Northbridge supports businesses across Scotland and beyond with tidy-ups, recovery work, ongoing care and the digital systems around bookings, payments, domains and email.

  • Founder-led
  • Clear written scope
  • Price agreed before work starts

Website tidy-up

from £75one-off

These are the small things that make a website look forgotten about, even when the business is doing well:

  • Out-of-date prices, services, hours or contact details
  • Old pages, photos, staff details or dates
  • Broken links, buttons and unclear customer routes
  • Spacing or layout problems on phones and desktops

Northbridge sorts the agreed fixes in one go, then checks the changed pages and the main customer journey on mobile and desktop.

Up to 5 small fixes
£75
Larger tidy-up packages
£100 / £125 / £150

The exact package and scope are confirmed before work starts.

Booking and checkout help

£75booking check

When customers cannot book, they usually do not report the problem. Northbridge can help when:

  • Booking buttons or service links lead to the wrong place
  • The route from a service to checkout is confusing
  • Your Wix Bookings settings need sorting out
  • The website side of checkout is not working properly

Work starts by following the booking journey as a customer would, then checking the settings behind it. You get a plain explanation of the issue and a written price for the fix.

Route fix
£150
Booking tidy
£225
Checkout or payment troubleshooting
£150–£250
Bespoke booking work
from £300

If you go ahead with the fix within 14 days, the cost of the check comes off it.

Some payment settings can only be opened by the website owner. If we need to look at those, we’ll do it together on a quick screen-share with you logged in.

Northbridge can check and fix the website side. Some settings and outcomes are controlled by providers such as Stripe or Wix, including which payment methods appear and when payouts arrive. If the provider is the source of the issue, the findings and options are explained clearly.

Northbridge never makes real bookings or payments on a client site without the owner’s approval.

Domain and business email help

from £75one-off

Domains and email are often set up once and then left alone for years. Northbridge can help with:

  • A domain that is not pointing to the right website
  • Email forwarding or a proper mailbox you can send from
  • DNS and deliverability settings, including SPF, DKIM and DMARC
  • Working out who controls an older domain, email setup or website
Domain connection or forwarding
from £75
One-user business mailbox
£125

Everything stays in the client’s name. Provider fees, such as a monthly mailbox charge, are paid directly to the provider.

This service covers domain and email setup, not computer, printer or network support.

Website handover check

£75one-off
“The person who built my website disappeared and I don’t know who owns what.”

If that sounds familiar, the handover check gets you a clear picture again.

Northbridge will establish:

  • The website platform and main service providers
  • Where the domain and email appear to be managed
  • Who controls each service, what access exists and when it renews
  • What needs sorting next, in priority order

You get the findings in one clear written summary.

Sometimes getting back into an old account or domain depends on the provider or the person who set it up. I can’t guarantee every account can be recovered, but you’ll know exactly where you stand and what the next step is.

Website Care

£120a month

Northbridge keeps the website current and checks the agreed customer-facing journey every month.

Ask about Website Care

Bigger jobs like new pages or a redesign are quoted separately before anything starts. Your existing hosting and platform fees stay with you.

  • Up to 60 minutes of small changes each month, like prices, hours, photos and wording

  • A monthly check of your site, how it looks on a phone, and your enquiry or booking route

  • Every Northbridge change is checked straight afterwards

  • A short update each month on what I checked, what I changed and anything worth doing next

  • Working target to acknowledge ordinary requests within one business day

  • Month to month, with 30 days’ notice to stop

One-off or ongoing?

Either is fine. Plenty of businesses start with a one-off and need nothing further. If the right route is not obvious, Northbridge will recommend the simplest sensible option.

A few specific things

One-off job

Best when there are a few specific things to sort. I fix them, check the work and the main customer journey, and you’re done. No monthly payment.

Things change regularly

Website Care

Best when things change regularly, or when nobody in the business wants to be the one keeping the website updated.

Straight answers.

Do I need a new website?

Usually not. Most Website Help work is fixing and updating sites businesses already have. If a rebuild genuinely makes more sense, Northbridge will explain why without pushing one unnecessarily.

Do you need my password?

No. You invite Northbridge as a collaborator or editor from your own account, and you can remove that access whenever you like. Northbridge never asks for passwords or security codes.

What platforms do you work on?

Northbridge works on Wix most often. If your site uses something else, send the link and Northbridge will confirm honestly whether it can help.

How does payment work?

You get the price in writing before anything starts. Jobs up to £150 are paid upfront by bank transfer. Bigger jobs are half to start and half when finished. Website Care is paid monthly, with the first month paid before it begins.

Do I have to sign up for Website Care?

No. One-off jobs are just that. If you ever want ongoing help, it’s there, but there’s no need unless things keep coming up.

Start with the website you have.

Send the link and explain what is getting in the way. Northbridge will review the situation and recommend the most useful first step.
